We’re starting things off with a bang!
We’ve hit the ground running this year and have been busier than ever – with new staff, new clients and countless new projects, we are looking forward to a good 2022. This month, we’ve got a quick round-up of content we think you might enjoy, and to help you get to know us a bit better, profiles of two of our team members. Like most technology businesses, we are always looking for great people to add to our team, so shout out if there’s anyone you’d like to recommend or point them to our careers page.
New faces
We’re delighted to have welcomed many new faces to the Adaptiv team over the past few months. Our new team members are located all around the country from the Big Smoke, right down to the depths of Invercargill. At Adaptiv, we’re lucky to have flexible work conditions that allow our team to work remotely from anywhere in the country which makes for an exciting get-together we can catch up (and one filled with North Island vs South Island banter). We’re constantly recruiting for new roles so if you feel up to the challenge, email us.
Meet our South Island team
Adaptiv has now expanded into the South Island, and we’re delighted to introduce our new team members!
Based in Christchurch, Malcolm’s role as one of our Principal Consultants is to work with clients in the South Island to see where Adaptiv’s expertise can enhance their businesses. He also does hands-on architecture and development for clients to help them through the integration journey. Malcolm has many years of experience in digital leadership, especially in
the banking and insurance sectors around the world. He fell into the world of IT 30+ years ago after not being able to become a pilot. He enjoys the problem-solving aspect of IT. In his spare time, you will find him at the gym and he’s a fanatic Everton FC fan (English Premier League) who comes from near where he was born.
Craig is currently our resident Invercargill Senior Developer. He’s tasked with creating APIs that link standalone systems together, making our customer’s business information available to them on multiple applications and platforms. Before joining Adaptiv, Craig worked in the IT industry for 32 years as a software developer in the health, finance, insurance and banking industries. He says his love of technology and natural talent for software development makes working in the IT industry all the more enjoyable. In his spare time, you will find him golfing, gaming, working on computers, and playing board games & cards.
Yuko joins us as an Integration Developer, specialising in Dell Boomi, BizTalk and Microsoft Azure. She has a colourful work history prior to becoming a developer, with roles ranging from Logistics Coordinator to Real Estate Agent. However, after her son started high school, she too went back to school to study IT. Starting in customer service, Yuko worked her way up to becoming a BizTalk developer, in the meantime gaining both a Diploma in Computer Systems and Network Administration and a Diploma in Web Development and Design. She loves the integration process from start to finish, especially seeing how happy the customers are with the outcomes. In a personal capacity, Yuko is skilled in aerial silks and yoga (she’s a certified flexibility coach), and like to spend any other spare time reading, listening to rock music, and hanging with her three cats.
Passion Project
To combat the melancholy feeling that comes with lockdown, Adaptiv introduced a new program; the Passion Project! For an hour each day, we can pursue a passion or hobby that we haven’t got around to in lockdown. Our team is spending their time working out, learning instruments, and even getting stuck in the garden to grow fresh veggies. Our Graduate and Technical Analyst Tim Brichau talks about his experience with the Passion Project and how editing family videos reignited his hobby for producing while bringing him closer to family.
