2021, we’ll be happy to see you go
It’s fair to say that this year has been an interesting one! Lockdown aside, we’ve been busier than ever with many challenging, yet rewarding, digital revolutions. This month, we’ve got a quick round-up of content we think you might enjoy, and to help you get to know us a bit better, profiles of two of our team members. Like most technology businesses, we are always looking for great people to add to our team, so shout out if there’s anyone you’d like to recommend or point them to our careers page.
Adaptiv in Lockdown
To quote the media, these have been “unprecedented times” and in August, we packed up our workstations and said goodbye to the office for the next few months. But one thing’s for sure, as a team, we are as close as ever. In between cupcake deliveries and magic shows, we catch up with the team on a weekly basis through virtual stand-ups and Friday morning teas. Our team has really come together to support each other this year and we can’t wait to be back in the office in 2022.
Blogs Galore
Our team has been busy writing some new blog posts for you, including “Ever wondered about how the role of a developer has changed over time? Check out Going in circles? You must be a developer.” Read these blogs out, and many more, on our website.
Passion Project
To combat the melancholy feeling that comes with lockdown, Adaptiv introduced a new program; the Passion Project! For an hour each day, we can pursue a passion or hobby that we haven’t got around to in lockdown. Our team are spending their time working out, learning instruments and even getting stuck in the garden to grow fresh veggies.
Familiar Faces
To get to know our team better, we have profiled two of our members in this month’s ‘Familiar Faces’.
Rhiannon started working with Adaptiv in our graduate program nearly 3 years ago and is an essential part of the Adaptiv development team. She develops and tests complex integration solutions, as well as liaising with clients to ensure the best delivery. Working in the development team, Rhiannon has experienced numerous integration projects, honing her skills with Microsoft Azure, MuleSoft, BizTalk and Dell Boomi. She is a graduate from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Applied Computing, and prior to Adaptiv, worked in CMS consultancy producing HTML content. Her main interest outside of work is music, and she’s skilled on both the piano and guitar.
Amrisha assists in managing the social media and digital channels for the business while helping out with other marketing activities. Amrisha has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Politics & International Relations and a Post Graduate Diploma in Communications. She spent 3 years marketing for the healthcare industry before joining Adaptiv in March 2021. Her skills include digital marketing (eDMs, website admin, SEO, e-commerce), social media marketing for Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, graphic design, public relations and event management. In her spare time, Amrisha enjoys hiking, movies and concerts. She’s also a keen cook (although a lot of it is barely edible).
