About the Role:
The Architect / Consultant position is a critical leadership role within our integration consulting practice, specialising in MuleSoft and Solace technologies offered to our clients.
This role is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, review, and ongoing enhancement of IT solutions delivered to clients. It also plays a key role in maintaining a sustainable pipeline of work for the practice, which includes participating in client-facing meetings, presentations, and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs).
The Architect / Consultant will be required to manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively balancing workloads and priorities. Leading a small team of developers, the role applies software architecture and development tools and techniques in a dynamic, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment.
This position demands a high level of responsiveness to client requests, with work priorities largely driven by stakeholder needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the MuleSoft Practice Lead to align strategy with vendor roadmaps and ensure partnership requirements are met.
Collaborate with the various teams across the business to identify new opportunities, support pre-sales activities, and drive growth through thought leadership in integration and cloud architecture.
Manage project workloads, resources, and priorities to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Participate in planning and stakeholder meetings, providing updates and technical feedback on solution feasibility.
Lead integration solution design and delivery, including architecture, strategy, and hands-on development using MuleSoft, Solace, and related technologies.
Guide development teams, enforce best practices, and introduce improvements to existing systems.
Apply strong knowledge of integration platforms, APIs, asynchronous patterns, databases, and leading cloud platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Workday).
Provide consultancy on API design, governance, and maturity assessments.
Define API principles, policies, and build services/applications aligned with industry standards.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Azure DevOps, Atlassian suite, GitLab, and Jenkins.
Apply test-driven development practices and manage test/UAT environments.
Deliver cloud integration services including architectural reviews, vendor evaluations, PoCs, and event-driven integrations in MuleSoft.
Provide Mentorship and upskill to team members in best practices and emerging integration technologies.
Promote continuous improvement and innovation across projects and internal practices.
Engage in vendor programs and ongoing professional development.
Technical Skills & Experience:
8+ years’ experience as an Integration Architect and Senior Developer.
Previous experience within a Leadership or Management position.
Pre-sales experience with proven ability to support solution design and client engagement.
Demonstrated success in delivering Integration and API design projects.
Proven experience in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) initiatives.
Extensive background in MuleSoft solution design and implementation.
Certifications in MuleSoft, Solace etc.
Strong track record of delivering MuleSoft projects on behalf of clients across various industries.
Experience with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD platforms.
